Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the submitted name, case number, or other terms and supplies the response. Rooks County Court Docket does not retain or record those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email and other messages sent to us are retained as needed to prepare and deliver a response. We keep those communications within our organization and do not disclose them externally unless applicable law requires us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the servers may automatically receive routine technical and usage information, including:
- The device's assigned Internet Protocol address
- The operating system and type of device in use
- The browser name and version
- Visited pages and the time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is available
- The date and time associated with each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure how the site is used. Along with analytics services, they allow traffic to be reviewed in aggregate, such as which pages are frequently visited and where visits end. A browser can be configured to reject or remove cookies. Disabling them may change the way some site functions perform.
What We Do With This Data
- Route submitted searches to the appropriate outside provider
- Operate the website and maintain reliable page performance
- Diagnose errors and correct technical problems
- Assess which resources visitors use and where improvements are needed
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Rooks County Court Docket does not own, host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general directions to records held by the Clerk of the District Court for Rooks County District Court, municipal-court clerks, and Kansas CaseSearch. Public access to Kansas judicial case information is governed in part by Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22, while record requests may also be subject to the Kansas Open Records Act and other controlling law. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search features displayed on the site. Information submitted through one of those features is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Rooks County District Court, a municipal clerk, Kansas CaseSearch, legal-aid resources, or an outside search service. Following one of those links leaves this website, and the destination's privacy terms then apply. Consider those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to observe activity across multiple websites for interest-based advertising. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be available to the following limited recipients:
- Analytics vendors that measure visits and site performance
- Outside search providers that process a query a visitor submits
- Advertising networks responsible for ads displayed on site pages
- Government agencies or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly accepted security measures are used to protect information in our possession. No website, transmission method, or internet-connected storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Although safeguards are maintained, we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly after being notified.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data vary with a visitor's location and the law that applies. The Kansas Open Records Act and Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22 govern access to certain government and court records, but they do not convert visitor data held by a private website into a Rooks County judicial record. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information we retain about that visitor
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion of personal information where the law permits
- Object to or opt out of certain processing activities when a right to do so applies
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised from time to time. Any revision will be posted here, and the effective date will be changed to show when the current version took effect. Visitors may return to this page to review the practices then in force.
Effective date: August 25, 2026
